I’m Amy Helm, and along with my husband, Heath, I founded Born to be Sassy! When we first started this store, it was just the hobby of a stay at home mom. Never did we imagine that our store’s popularity would grow so much and bring us to where we are today. Neither of us had any intention of building such a huge company, and we’re learning new things every day to help us make this shopping experience better for all our customers. We’d love to have you along for the ride as we improve our site, product selection, shipping practices, and customer service to become your favorite online store!
In the beginning...
It all started in our laundry room in the fall of 2003. At the time, we had a three-year-old little girl (Madison) and an infant baby boy (Mason). It was so fun to make matching outfits for them! They looked the absolute sweetest and were the perfect subjects for unique photoshoots that would go into their baby books.
Because we were already creating cute outfits for our little ones, it seemed natural to introduce our creations to other moms. Our very first item was listed on eBay, and we decided that if it sold, we would list another. If there was no interest, then creating these outfits was still a fun hobby that resulted in adorable clothes for our children.
To our surprise, just a few seconds after listing the first item of clothing, it was already sold! We decided right then and there to seize the moment. Our journey was really starting and we were excited to discover where it would take us.
Here we are now...
After our first eBay experience, we decided it was time to create our own website with graphic tees and monogram clothing for women, boys, girls, and babies. With our children all grown up and adding their own input to our online collections, this truly is a family business. We’ve expanded so much and are now a thriving monogram company that offers a great selection of clothing, gifts, and accessories! We operate our own embroidery department, direct to garment graphics department, vinyl department, screen printing department, and more!
We have a great team that’s excited to work with us and we’re bringing on more people as our company grows. We’re always looking into new ideas for our online store, adding seasonal items, holiday graphics, and fun, unique items for folks of all ages.
Where our future is...
It is our goal to continue to grow as a Christian company right here in the United States of America. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the Born To Be Sassy brand.
